AVYRA

Community Guidelines

Version 1.0 · updated 21 September 2026

Draft pending legal review. This document describes how AVYRA actually works and is published so the product is not shipped with an empty policy. It has not been reviewed by an advocate. Replace it through Admin → Content before public launch.

These rules apply to everything on AVYRA — your profile, your photos, and every message you send. They form part of the Terms of Service.

Be who you say you are

Use your own photos, showing your own face. No one else's pictures, no photos of a group where nobody can tell which person you are, no pictures of celebrities.

Your age must be accurate. Misstating your age is a ban, not a warning.

Consent runs through everything

A conversation is not consent to continue it. If someone stops replying, unmatches you, or asks you to stop, that is the end of it — do not message them from a new account.

No unsolicited sexual content. No sexual content involving anyone who has not clearly agreed to receive it, and none at all involving minors.

Never share, screenshot or repost someone else's photos or messages outside AVYRA.

Nobody is here to be sold to

No asking for money, in any framing — an emergency, a fee, an investment, a gift, airtime, a paybill or till number. This is the most common scam on dating apps in Kenya, and asking is enough to lose your account.

No promoting a business, no recruiting, no links to other services, no sex work.

Be careful about moving to WhatsApp or Telegram immediately. Anyone in a hurry to get you off AVYRA is usually in a hurry to get away from moderation.

Treat people as people

No harassment, threats, or abuse. No slurs or attacks based on ethnicity, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, or where someone is from.

Rejection is not a provocation. Someone who is not interested does not owe you an explanation.

Off AVYRA still counts

Serious harm that happens after you meet — assault, coercion, threats, sharing intimate images — is grounds for removal from AVYRA even though it happened elsewhere. Report it to us, and to the police.

Reporting

Report from any profile or conversation. Reports go to a person, not a filter, and are reviewed against these rules. Reports about safety are prioritised.

Blocking is immediate and mutual: a blocked person cannot see you, message you, or find you again.

You will not get in trouble for reporting someone in good faith, even if we decide no rule was broken.

What happens when a rule is broken

Depending on what we find: a warning, a limit on your account, a suspension, or a permanent ban. Anything involving a minor, a credible threat, or non-consensual intimate images is a permanent ban on the first instance and may be referred to the authorities.

We will tell you what rule was broken and how to appeal, unless telling you would put someone at risk.

If you are in danger

If you are in immediate danger call 999 or 112. Use Share My Date before you go — it tells someone you trust where you are meeting and when you should be back.
